Every year, the employees of tech firm PerkinElmer team up and run lemonade stands for a day. They’re not just taking time off from work. They are raising awareness and money to fight cancer along with Alex’s Lemonade Stands, a 501(c)3 charity that helps kids fight the disease.
Back when she was only four years old, Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004) had an idea: set up a lemonade stand to make some money and find a cure for cancer. That was 11 years ago. Since then Alex’s Lemonade Stands has raised more then 35 million dollars.
This Wednesday, January 26, 2011, twenty five lemonade stands will setup shop up at Hollywood businesses.
