Located at 707 S. Ocean Drive, Hollywood Fl, 33019, the new facility will house the beach safety division’s headquarters and the new Fire Station 40.
According to city officials, the current fire station at 2201 N. Ocean Drive is outdated. The new facility will bring together the beach safety division which is currently located in the Johnson Street parking garage, and the fire station. The Johnson St. parking garage is planned to be redeveloped as part of the new Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort project.
The new safety complex construction will cover more than 23,000 square feet and will be built to withstand severe storms and hurricanes in order to serve as a disaster preparation and recovery coordination center in case of an emergency.
The project is scheduled to be completed by Spring 2012.
